About The Power of Pacing®

The path to your role as a veterinarian has been a constant climb.

You’ve overcome one challenge after another in pursuit of a dream to help animals live healthy, happy lives. And yet, when you got there, it wasn’t what you expected.

Somehow, you have to find a way to handle the constant, uncontrollable stress of the environment. The clinic’s schedule goes off the rails. Animals exhibit aggressive behavior. Owners seem to forget they’re talking to a human being, and worse yet, delivering bad news is your everyday job.

Veterinary school taught you how to treat patients, but no one taught you how to slow down when it feels like the day is racing out of control.

It doesn’t take long to feel defeated by the work you care so much about, but here’s the thing. You deserve to know you’re not alone in this struggle. As hard as it is, it’s a normal, shared experience for new veterinarians, and there is a way to overcome it.

We know what it’s like to feel like things are spinning out of control.

The Power of Pacing® is a simple technique taught through a private coaching process which helps you slow down, reframe the moment, and remain focused and calm. While you can’t control all of the unexpected stress of the veterinary environment, you can control how you respond to it. You’ll learn to:

  • RECOGNIZE what’s triggering your stress.

  • REPLACE the mental script that’s racing through your mind.

  • REFOCUS on the task in front of you.

Here’s what The Power of Pacing® program looks like.

It’s an 18-month journey to transformation, but don’t let that overwhelm you. This private coaching process is designed for busy vets and only requires a handful of sessions to complete.

  1. Overcome One Thing. For the first four months, we meet monthly to teach you the basics and gain control over one stressful, triggering event you face every day.

  2. Overcome the Rest! For the next fourteen months, we meet quarterly to help you gain control of the other daily stresses you face at work and beyond.

  3. Thrive! No more feeling exhausted and defeated at the end of the day. Instead, you’ll maintain a steady pace and reclaim the joy which brought you here to begin with.

It’s possible for this career you love to give you life instead of drain it. This isn’t therapy, and there’s no mystery about it. It’s a repeatable technique used to teach you to evolve and reach your full potential as a caretaker and leader of others. We’ll be with you every step of the way.

Meet Dr. R

As the owner of a 24/7/365 general, referral, and emergency veterinary hospital that employed up to 15 Veterinarians and 35 support staff, it became increasingly obvious to me over the years that people were having a harder time dealing with the stress associated with veterinary practice.

After extensive research and discussions with health professionals from various disciplines, I developed The Power of Pacing®, a technique which I implemented as part of my day-to-day mentoring.

Those who utilized the system considered the results transformative, allowing for tremendous improvement in their patient care, client communications, and relationships – both inside and outside of work.

Several participants even found the confidence to open their own practice and cite our technique as a key part of that journey.

I look forward to sharing with you how The Power of Pacing® can make a difference for you, the people you work with, and the patients you serve.
